Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Supports Ludi Lin Casting As Mortal Kombat Movie's Liu Kang

It looks like Ludi Lin is getting support from just about everyone now that he is in talks to play Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat movie. Simu Liu, who recently made news for being cast as Marvel's Shang-Chi, is supporting the Power Rangers star as well.

It was previously reported that Lin is in negotiations to appear as the video game Shaolin monk in the upcoming Mortal Kombat film. Of course, it didn't take long for the news to reach Liu, who immediately congratulated the Aquaman actor on the possible casting. Take a look at Liu's tweet below.

Although it is unclear whether the two actors know each other, it's great to see that Liu absolutely supports Lin. It's just another reason why the Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings star is perfect for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We're certainly loving all the support Lin is getting for the role and can't wait until the deal is made. Although New Line Cinema has not yet made an official announcement, the casting could be confirmed before the end of the month.

The Mortal Kombat film has previously added The Raid's Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero. More casting news will be coming considering that the movie is already expected to begin production later this year.

Mortal Kombat will start filming in Australia before the end of 2019. The movie is currently scheduled for release on March 5, 2021.
