Marvel Studios will kickstart Phase 5's Disney+ programming with the upcoming series, Secret Invasion, featuring the thrilling return of Marvel veteran Samuel L. Jackson alongside Ben Mendelsohn's Talos. Sadly, the Marvel project still remains a mystery despite production wrapping up last April.
Two A-list actresses will join Secret Invasion, starting with Academy Award Winner Olivia Colman reportedly playing a gender-swapped character, with Game of Thrones legend Emilia Clark whose role hasn't yet been disclosed to the public. According to rumors, Clarke will play Veranke, the main antagonist of the Secret Invasion comics storyline.
However, it's no secret that the Disney+ show would be Samuel L. Jackson's first lead role throughout his 14-year tenure at the MCU. Secret Invasion is set to explore more of Nick Fury's origins as the former director of SHIELD, while also battling the Skulls trying to infiltrate earth.
More amazingly, it looks like Nick Fury will be donning a new suit in Secret Invasion after the official Funko Twitter page released an image of the first official Funko Pop! from Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion. This new Pop! unveils Fury's new look wearing slacks, a brown leather jacket, and a beanie. Fury is no longer wearing his iconic eye patch and is now replaced with a white eye.
The toy figure is exclusively for attendees at the New York Comic-Con 2022.

As the SHIELD director who formed the Avengers Initiative, it's delightful to know that Fury is finally getting his own spotlight inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even after more than a decade, Jackson remains enthusiastic about the character, as he told Collider:
"Yeah. I love Nick Fury. Of course. Come on. He’s a guy who has no superpowers, who’s in charge of people who have superpowers, and they let him be."
For now, fans have to wait for what's in store for Nick Fury. To spike up anticipation, Secret Invasion recently dropped the official game-changing synopsis describing the series as a "crossover event."
Marvel Studios hasn't yet released an official release window for Disney+'s Secret Invasion, but fans can expect it to arrive in early 2023.
