Scream 6 Official Trailer Is Finally Here


Just weeks after the first teaser offered a snapshot of what it's going to be like to go up against a new Ghostface in the Big Apple, our Woodsboro survivors are back in the first official trailer for Scream VI (2023)...

The upcoming Scream sequel has been far from shy in recent weeks, sharing cryptic Christmas-themed posters of its New York City setting, Ghostface-shaped subway maps, crosswords puzzles (yes, crossword puzzles), and new images of the characters who will go up against Ghostface again.

Now, just weeks after the first teaser arrived, which shows the Woodsboro survivors from Scream (2022) encountering Ghostface on a subway train, the first official trailer has finally arrived - and it looks awesome.

"There has never been one like me," Ghostface warns Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox). And going by the trailer, we think they might have a point...

It's fair to say that this looks like the most different Scream movie yet. Gone is the Woodsboro setting, and this time, Ghostface (however many of them there will be in this sequel) is going to be a lot bolder, taking on their victims in open public settings, while using weapons such as shotguns...

And then there's the "shrine" of Ghostface costumes, as well as graffiti on the city walls depicting pictures of Ghostface and the iconic line, "What's your favorite scary movie?" Is there a Ghostface cult at large? And what does Ghostface mean when they say "There has never been one like me"?

And what's up with Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera)? Is she really the new final girl, or does her heritage mean that she's destined to walk in the footsteps of her deranged father Billy Loomis? And will Gale Weathers finally meet her maker this time around, leaving no legacy characters in the fold?!

Well, even if that does happen, there is one character who has come back from the dead - Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), who was seemingly killed off at the end of Scream 4 (2011). But this time, there's really no telling who's safe, or who the killer or killers might be.

This time, all bets are off...

As per Wikipedia, here's the official synopsis for Scream VI:

The film continues with the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings, sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks, leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York City only to again be plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer.

Scream VI stars Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Roger L Jackson (voice of Ghostface).

Newcomers are Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving, all in undisclosed roles.
