Salma Hayek is one of the blessed female celebrities who seem to have not aged even a bit. At 55, she still has a youthful glow that many people envy.

With that said, it’s no surprise that a lot of men and women alike want to know Salma Hayek’s secret. Thankfully, the Eternals star is generous enough to reveal her skincare routine and the effective products she swears.

The One Skincare Ingredient Salma Hayek Loves

Back in 2014, the American-Mexican actress revealed the one skincare ingredient she loved: tepezcohuite.

Not everyone knew about it at the time, but it was deemed effective with the ageless beauty she possessed until today—after eight years.

She told Elle that this ingredient is used in Mexico for burn victims with its ability to regenerate the skin.

“There’s no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us,” she revealed. “Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like, ‘Oh my god! How come nobody is using this?’”

She also said that it was the reason she hadn’t had Botox yet—no peels and no fillings. “I only use my creams,” she added.

According to UsWeekly, The Derm Review explained the use of tepezcohuite and its “highly potent skin regenerative abilities.”

It can help heal burns by promoting healing and healthy skin growth. Tepezcohuite’s skincare properties are suspected to come from the high content of nutrients in its bark.

It’s probably the reason behind several companies’ decision to add it to their products.

It can be used on the face, neck, and body due to its skincare-favorite content, like vitamin E and collagen that help fasten the cellular regeneration for fresh and youthful skin.

It also contains antioxidants, lipids, and tannins. In addition, it can help calm inflamed acne and even psoriasis.

Other Skincare Tips from Salma Hayek

Aside from tepezcohuite, Salma Hayek also has several skincare tips. She’s not afraid to show her bare skin and face, and she still looks absolutely and naturally beautiful.

Thanks to her grandmother, from whom the Frida star learned her beauty routine.

First, she told The New York Times she skips morning cleanse, learning from her grandma that the skin replenishes everything it has lost at night.

Trusting that she has cleansed her face thoroughly before bed, she’ll just opt for a little hydration in the morning, per Prevention.

She also swears by good hydrations and beauty creams, like anti-aging super creams, serums, and oils.

If others love exfoliation, Salma Hayek doesn’t. “Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term,” she added.

Lastly, she loves coconut oil and other kitchen ingredients. She never forgets to take off her makeup at night with coconut oil.

She’s also not afraid to DIY her facial cleanser using kitchen products. She uses oatmeal, water or almond milk, and honey as a facial cleanser to soften her skin.
