Ryan Gosling is Waiting for This Particular MCU Casting Call

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly expanding with several new additions like Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight and Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel. Along with that, Marvel Studios appears to be persistent in introducing new characters like Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ironheart (Riri Williams) in the upcoming Disney+ series, and Ryan Gosling's rumored MCU debut as Richard Rider, widely known as Nova in the Marvel Comics.

However, it seems that Gosling is interested in a role Marvel hasn't yet introduced before.

In an interview with MTV News' Josh Horowitz (via IndieWire), Gosling was asked about the rumors swirling around regarding his MCU casting. “I don’t know anything about Nova, if that’s what you’re going to ask me,” he responded.

He continued, "It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t right for it. But I would love to do it. It’s just, what’s the one? I was waiting for the Captain Canada call."

Gosling as Captain Canada? Everyone would surely pay loads of money for that. Sadly, this is just Gosling's silly way of playing around with interviews and not divulging anything about his MCU casting, if ever there is. But to give the actor the benefit of the doubt, there was actually a Captain Canada back in 1979 published in the Newfoundland Herald (Canada). Despite the hero being outside the MCU, who knows? Maybe another studio can make that happen. Going back to his MCU casting, the actor is clearly interested in setting foot into the MCU, revealing his hopes that the Russo Brothers help him to secure a role.

Ryan Gosling is heavily occupied in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie, where he plays Barbie's love interest, Ken. Along with that, he also stars as Court Gentry in The Russo Brother's The Gray Man. For now, Marvel Studios hasn't yet announced a definitive decision regarding Ryan Gosling's casting as Nova.

Greta Gerwig's Barbie is still under production, while The Gray Man is available to stream on Netflix.
