Riverdale Season 7 is set to take fans on a time-traveling journey that promises to shake up the show's romantic relationships. Picking up from Season 6's cliffhanger, the upcoming season will transport the crew back to 1955, leaving them with no memory of their past lives.
As the highly-anticipated premiere approaches on Wednesday, creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is hinting at the tantalizing twists and turns in store for the characters' love lives.

Riverdale Season 7 Will Showcase a Change in Relationship Dynamics
Aguirre-Sacasa has made it a priority to keep the show from falling into the trap of repeating storylines already explored in previous seasons.
In a recent interview with TVLine, he explained that one of the ways he plans to achieve this is by introducing new romantic pairings for some of the characters.
The first trailer for the upcoming season has already teased a few of these new couplings, including Betty (Lili Reinhart) with Kevin (Casey Cott), and Veronica (Camila Mendes) with Archie (KJ Apa).
"You don't want to go back and then immediately just land in the same dynamics," Aguirre-Sacasa said. "There is fun and dramatic irony in us knowing that Kevin is gay, but he's in a relationship with Betty…There is fun to seeing Archie and Veronica first discovering themselves again, as opposed to knowing they had this deep history. So it felt like it would be a missed opportunity to not do a little bit of scrambling."
In addition, Aguirre-Sacasa has reassured fans that the upcoming shift in relationships in Riverdale Season 7 will not erase the progress made in previous seasons. Instead, the focus will be on how the characters navigate to find each other again, despite having no recollection of their past lives in Riverdale.
Riverdale Season 7 Release Date
Fans can mark their calendars for the Riverdale Season 7 premiere, which airs on Wednesday, March 29, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The new season promises to take viewers on a journey through time, with Jughead leading the charge to help everyone remember their lives before the comet.
Along the way, the characters will relive their high school days, facing new challenges and drama while living in the 1950s. Additionally, they will embark on a new murder mystery while also exploring their own individual journeys. The season will be available to stream on The CW app and website starting the day after it airs.
