Riot Discusses Content Drops in VALORANT: ‘Keep an eye out for the next act’

Riot Games clearly has big plans for their popular tactical shooter, VALORANT, and Creative Director David Nottingham has recently shared insight into what players can expect from the game in the near future.

In June, VALORANT released a huge content drop with the launch of Episode 3, Act 1. The major update released the game's sixteenth agent, KAY/O, as well as a new battle pass, and balance changes for agent abilities.

However, one of the biggest challenge Riot is facing when it comes to VALORANT's lore is the distance between large content releases. Since the game was released last year, VALORANT has been focused on major releases with large influxes of content, followed by months of waiting for the next major release, leaving fans waiting for more.

Nottingham recently discussed this pacing problem in a tweet.

"Often we are putting so much time and energy into landing those big drops (new agents, new maps), and then we barely recover before working on the next one," Nottingham said.

However, Riot is making it a priority to create smaller pieces of content to appease VALORANT players in between the game's major content drops every few months. According to Nottingham, the developers of VALORANT are looking to "increase the range of content drops so it's not just big, but also intermediate and small resulting in [a] more steady stream."

While Riot hasn't announced any specific updates about what type of content the developers are planning to bring to VALORANT in the near future, Nottingham told fans to "keep an eye out for the next act."

VALORANT Episode 3, Act is scheduled to release on Aug. 24.
