Reese Witherspoon is seemingly distancing herself from her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. According to a new report, she doesn't want to be dragged into his messy life.

Reese Witherspoon Reportedly Refuses To Be Dragged To Ex-Husband's Personal Drama

Witherspoon, 46, was previously married to Phillippe from 1999 to 2008. They share two children daughter Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19.

According to an insider, the exes used to be amicable, but that changed due to Phillippe's messy life.

"Reese and Ryan maintained a civil relationship when they were making decisions about their children — but that's gone now," an insider told Radar Online.

The Morning Show star is reportedly still peeved about being subpoenaed to testify in 2019 when Phillipe's ex-girlfriend model Elsie Hewitt, 26, accused him of battering her in his $1 million lawsuit against the Chaos actor.

Hewitt claimed that Phillippe assaulted her. He "braced his body and violently threw her down his staircase as hard as he could" after they got into a fight. She also provided evidence of the bruises she allegedly got from the altercation.

She also accused the I Know What You Did Last Summer star of abusing "cocaine, ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and steroids." She added Witherspoon to her witness list, which didn't sit well with Phillippe.

The 48-year-old hunk actor denied the allegation and settled the case out of court.

"Reese still sees Ryan's life is messy, and she doesn't want to be drawn into it," the source added. "She doesn't care for him — or see the need to be buddies."

Reese Witherspoon Said She Didn't Regret Marrying Ryan Phillippe

In a previous interview on ITV's Lorraine in 2017, the Legally Blonde actress said she "would never change anything" about what happened to her life, including marrying Phillippe.

"I got married when I was 23 and I had two kids by the time I was 27," the "Big Little Lies" actress said as quoted by Us Weekly. "I don't know, sometimes it's good to know yourself [first]. I've said to my daughter, I think you know, at 25, you start to know yourself a little bit better."

Witherspoon and Phillippe worked together in the movie Cruel Intentions and tied the knot in 1999, two years after dating. However, she filed for divorce nine years later.

"Happy 18th birthday to our gorgeous, smart, talented, and caring son. You are a true light in this world and are so loved by all who know you. We are lucky to be your mom and dad. Love you, pup..(I'd say we did pretty good @reesewitherspoon)," he wrote in the caption.

Several netizens praised the exes for their amicable arrangement and for putting their children's best interest as their priority despite their divorce.

"@reesewitherspoon this boy is your clone mama! Such a great looking family you and @ryanphillippe created ❤️ kudos to you both for being able to co-parent like this ❤️," one fan commented.
