Ralph Macchio dominates the small screen as Daniel LaRusso in the TV series Cobra Kai. This role has made the now-60-year-old star famous since portraying it in the original 1984 movie The Karate Kid.

According to his Wikipedia page, Macchio had dancing lessons at three and was eventually discovered by a talent agent at 16.
He became a part of the TV series Eight is Enough, followed by a role in The Outsiders. His latter role led him to be cast as Daniel in the 1984 hit movie The Karate Kid and its two sequels, The Karate Kid Part II and The Karate Kid Part III.
Come 1986, he did Crossroads and even made his way on Broadway with Cuba and His Teddy Bear opposite Robert DeNiro.
In 1992, he worked with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny. It was followed by the revival of the Tony Award-winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
In 2005, he played himself in Entourage and joined the TV series Ugly Betty. He later joined Dancing with the Stars and was cast in Hitchcock.
He also appeared in How I Met Your Mother and the Off-Broadway production of A Room of My Own.

In 2018, he reprised his role as Daniel in Cobra Kai with another original cast William Zabka. He also plays as the series’ co-executive producer.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Macchio and Zabka talked about Cobra Kai and what the late star Noriyuki “Pat” Morita would think of it if he managed to see it.
“I think he would love it,” Macchio believed. “He’s watching it from somewhere,” Zabka added.

Morita played the role of Mr. Miyagi in the original movie series before he met his demise in 2005 at the age of 73.
“It’s a blessing that this thing has been kissed with such great luck and positive impact,” Macchio continued. “So, I think, you know, we feel his presence on the set all the time.”
He even said that the late actor’s character as Miyagi was “throughout the series.”
