Rachael Ray has said time and over again that she's not a chef, but she has become a big name in the culinary industry. In fact, she has been known as a cook and the host of the Food Network series 30 Minute Meals and her namesake talk show.

The 54-year-old used to work at a gourmet food marker. As she gave live cooking lessons to her customers, a local news station noticed her and convinced her to do the same—only on live TV instead.

From there, 30 Minute Meals was born.

Today, Ray has published numerous books focusing on one specific aspect of cooking, like burgers, vegetarian meals, and children's foods.

An End of an Era

After 17 years, CBS announced the end of Rachael Ray.

"In my more than 20 plus years in television, I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael," Ray said in a statement. "My passions have evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution."

The news release confirmed the show would end after its current season. So, what would the author do next? She would now put her focus on her newly-launched production company, Free Food Studios.

"I am truly excited to be able to introduce and develop new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms," she added. "Thank you to all of our Rachael daytime show partners, crew and affiliates, and the wonderful years we all worked together."

Rachael Ray debuted in 2006 to "immediate rating success" and even earned 37 Daytime Emmy nominations and won Outstanding Talk Show thrice.
