Queen Elizabeth is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee next month. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle already confirmed their attendance. However, the upcoming reunion might be one of the reasons the Duke of Sussex pushed back his upcoming memoir, according to a royal commentator.

Prince Harry's Delayed Memoir May Have Something To Do With His Upcoming Reunion With Queen Elizabeth?

Prince Harry announced his memoir last year and said it would be released this year. The announcement raised eyebrows as it happened at about the same time as his grandmother's Platinum Jubilee celebration. However, there are rumors that it might be delayed. Some said it would be pushed back so as not to steal the Queen's thunder.

However, award-winning royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo had a different idea in mind. When he appeared on GB News, he suggested that the Duke of Sussex probably pushed back his book, so he could include "private conversations" from the Platinum Jubilee celebration.

"Their only claim to fame is their proximity to the royal family and the more that they live in California, the more that that popularity and that fame ebbs away," Heydel-Mankoo explained. "So, they need that access. That's one of the reasons we suspect his much-talked-about memoir, a tell-all memoir of scandals on the royal family, what a great gift to your grandmother during a Platinum Jubilee. The national memoir is being postponed and we think, part of that reason is so that he can include information about his visit to the U.K.  for the jubilee celebrations. Perhaps, reporting on private conversations."

"Gosh, how cynical you are," the other gentleman commented after hearing Heydel-Mankoo's speculation.

Prince Harry's Memoir May Reportedly Include Snippets From Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Royal expert Roya Nikkah echoed Heydel-Mankoo's opinion. She believed that the delay of Prince Harry's memoir is not just to avoid overshadowing his grandmother's big event. It would also be an opportunity to write his jubilee experience in his anticipated book.

It would "provide Harry an opportunity to give his account of attending next month’s celebrations with Meghan and their children, the first time the Sussexes will have been reunited with the royal family for more than two years," Nikka wrote in The Times, per The Daily Express.

"A delayed publication date would probably be a relief to the royal family and courtiers, with some fearing they will come under fire in the book following the Sussexes’ soul-baring interview with Oprah Winfrey," she added.
