Prince Harry’s Memoir Spare A ‘Revenge Book’ From Princess Diana Against Queen Consort Camilla?

Following Prince Harry’s claims, journalist and author A.N Wilson came to Queen Consort Camilla’s defense by saying that Spare is nothing more than a revenge book on behalf of Princess Diana.

“It is [Princess Diana’s revenge] because the villain of the book is the present queen, Camilla,” he told Times Radio.

Queen Consort Camilla Never Wanted To Be Queen Of England, Author Claims

Wilson also claimed that 95 percent of the things that Prince Harry said about Queen Consort Camilla were not true. For instance, he suggested that Queen Consort Camilla wanted to be a queen, that’s why she leaked some stories to the press. But the author stressed that the mom of two was perfectly contented with just being King Charles’ girlfriend.

“[Harry] can’t conceal his loathing of Camilla and he puts in lots of things that I’m 95% certain are untrue, namely that Camilla was always campaigning to become the Queen of England. All the anecdotal evidence was that she was perfectly happy to remain Charles’ girlfriend and it was he who insisted that she marry him,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).

Queen Consort Camilla Didn’t Want To Get Out Of Bed On Her Wedding Day To King Charles?

In the book The Duchess: Camilla Parker Bowles and the Love Affair That Rocked the Crown, author Penny Junor said that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s wedding almost didn’t push through.

The latter suffered was feeling a bit under the weather during her big day, but her nerves also got the best of her. So, Junor revealed that four people forced Queen Consort Camilla out of her bed on her wedding day.

“On the day itself, it took four people to coax Camilla out of bed. It wasn’t just her sinus infection that was at play, though. It had become more an issue of nerves,” Junor wrote (via Vanity Fair).

Junor also claimed that Queen Consort Camilla’s sister Annabelle threatened to put on her gown and walk down the aisle, and this was the only time that King Charles’ wife finally agreed to push through with her nuptials.

The author claimed that Queen Consort Camilla’s hesitation to wed King Charles is proof that she wasn’t after the title or the crown.

“Friends and family know it is not something she wants — she has said as much. [Camilla] is in this position because of her love of the man, not because of her desire to be anything more than a support to him. The whole business of his accession is something she dreads and, in her inimitable way, is choosing not to think about,” Junor wrote.

Still, Prince Harry insisted that this wasn’t the case. During his interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, Prince Harry called his stepmom the villain.

“She was the villain, she was a third person in the marriage, and she needed to rehabilitate her image. The need for her to rehabilitate her image… made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was an open willingness on both sides to trade information and with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there was going to be people or bodies left in the street because of that,” he said (via Cosmopolitan).
