Prince William And Prince Harry Didn’t Want King Charles To Wed Queen Consort Camilla?
In Spare, Prince Harry claimed that he and Prince William tried to talk King Charles out of marrying Queen Consort Camilla. He also admitted that he felt sorrow and bitterness ahead of the couple’s wedding because tying the knot meant closing another chapter in Princess Diana’s book.
The Duke of Sussex also revealed his thoughts about Princess Diana potentially blocking King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s royal wedding from the grave because the couple dealt with so many delays.
“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand and wished him well. No hard feelings. We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved, the woman Fate might’ve intended for him in the first place. Whatever bitterness or sorrow we felt over the closing of another loop in Mummy’s story, we understood that it was beside the point,” he wrote (via Us Weekly).

King Charles And Queen Consort Camilla’s Royal Wedding Was Postponed
According to Express, King Charles and Queen consort Camilla were originally scheduled to tie the knot on April 8, but they had to postpone their nuptials until a day later. After all, the new monarch had to attend the funeral of Pope John Paul II in 2005.
Hello! magazine also revealed that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s wedding almost didn’t push through on April 9 after the latter suffered from a serious bout of sinusitis.
According to her friend Lucia Santa Cruz, Queen Consort Camilla was really ill and stressed on the morning of her wedding. And she also struggled to get out of bed.
Queen Elizabeth Did Not Attend King Charles And Queen Consort Camilla’s Wedding
Luckily, the wedding still pushed through, but Queen Elizabeth opted not to attend the ceremony. A source told The Telegraph at the time that the civil nature of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s wedding was an issue for Her Majesty.
“She did not feel it was appropriate for her to attend,” the source said.
The queen also reportedly made it clear that she was putting her duties as the head of the Church of England before his son and daughter-in-law’s feelings. But the late monarch made sure to attend the couple’s reception at Windsor Castle’s State Apartments.
