The issue about their photos came to light when an old stamp featuring Prince William and Prince Harry's parents went viral, Mirror reported. The netizens shared their thoughts why the royal prince looked taller in the photos.

"That's why she always tilted her head down. She also wore flats or very short heels," one wrote.

Another suggested that the future king may have been "standing on the box" to give the people the illusion that he is taller than his wife.

Princess Diana And Prince Charles' Height In Photos Explained

In an article on The Society Pages, Lisa Wade, an Associate Professor at Tulane University, explained why Prince Charles is often taller than his wife. According to her, it's more about "social commitment" and the expectations from the public.

"This effort to make Charles appear taller is a social commitment to the idea that men are taller and women shorter," she wrote. "When our own bodies, and our chosen mates, don’t follow this rule, sometimes we’ll go to great lengths to preserve the illusion."
