Princess Anne has made numerous engagements in less than a week. However, it's not really surprising as the Princess Royal has been the busiest member of the firm for years.
Princess Anne Reinforces Reputation As The Hardest Working Royal
Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth's only daughter has inherited both of their commitment to the monarchy. In four days, Princess Anne has traveled 25,000 miles on a commercial airline and visited Australia and Papua New Guinea to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Unlike other senior royals Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, she attended the engagements with little to no fuss at all. She only traveled with one member of her staff and traveled lightly.
She stayed in £185 hotels, packed her own suitcase and did her own hair and makeup. The royal staff were reportedly "lost in admiration" for the 71-year-old Princess Royal, Express reported.
Princess Anne is already five years over the official age of retirement but has consistently maintained her reputation as among the hardest working royals.
Princess Anne Represented Queen Elizabeth In Australia And Papua New Guinea
Princess Anne has actively represented the Queen at home and abroad by attending state and ceremonial occasions, conducting investitures and supporting more than 300 charities, organisations and military regiments. Just recently, she visited Australia and Papua New Guinea to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
She had a full engagement in Liverpool Thursday and flew by helicopter back to the capital. The Princess Royal then boarded a commercial flight to Sydney at Heathrow.
Her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and private secretary, Charles Davies, joined her trip. They did not have a stop-over and arrived in Sydney 5 a.m. Saturday. By 9:30 a.m, Princess Anne made her first engagement with the Governor of New South Wales. She spent the rest of the day at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s Bicentennial Sydney Royal Easter Show.
She returned to her hotel at 6:30 p.m. and attended a dinner at Sydney Olympic Park as the guest of honor. On Sunday, the royal was as busy as the previous day and met the representatives of the rural fire service. She also saw the devastating effects of bushfires and floods in the country.
Princess Anne also undertook military engagements and inspected a guard of honor. Then, she flew to Papua New Guinea and met Prime Minister, His Excellency The Honourable James Marape.
On Tuesday, she made eight engagements, including a visit to a girls boarding school and a war cemetery. She wrapped up her four-day royal tour on Tuesday with a dinner with the Marape.
