Princess Anne is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The Princess Royal is famous for her no-nonsense attitude and scathing remarks, which have occasionally gotten her into trouble. In one event, she blared out a cutting insult with her microphone on and she didn't look bothered that everyone heard it on loudspeaker.
Princess Anne Did Not Suffer Fools Gladly At The 2012 Olympics
Princess Anne is the President of the British Olympic Associations and sits on the International Olympic Committee (IOC). One time she let one person know exactly how she thought of them and the rest of the people heard it.
Lord Sebastian Coe shared his favorite moment with the Queen's only daughter. He recalled how bold the Princess Royal was when it came to choosing her words.
"The Princess Royal was on the big Committee and her contribution was seismic," Lord Coe said on the 2020 ITV documentary Anne: The Princess Royal at 70, per Express. "It was always to the point, she doesn’t suffer fools gladly, she doesn’t speak for the sake of speaking."
"I do remember after a rather long-winded interjection by one of the Committee members, she had actually forgotten to turn her microphone off and she did manage to utter the immortal words, ‘I think this person is probably the most stupid person in world sport’," he continued. "And this echoed absolutely around the room and she never flinched."
According to Lord Coe, it was as though it never happened and they just moved on. However, for him, "it was probably one of my favourite moments."
Princess Anne Upset A Royal Fan On Christmas Day
The royal family has the traditional Christmas walk when they meet the people who wait for them outdoor as they walk their way to the Sandringham Estate after attending the Christmas morning service. It's the opportunity for every royal fan to rub elbows with their favorite royal.
Iris Halfpenny handed Princess Anne flowers one Christmas and told the Princess Royal that she had arranged them herself. However, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's daughter allegedly responded, saying it was a "ridiculous thing to do."
Halfpenny was so heartbroken that she skipped royal-watching for several weeks, according to her fellow fan Mary Relph.
"That was a very sore point with Iris. She didn’t come for many weeks after that," Relph said in the 2002 Channel 4 documentary The Real Princess Anne. "I think she was quite a bit upset over it, you know, but she didn’t come."

For Relph, Princess Anne's reaction wasn't actually surprising. Zara Tindall's mom has been transparent and royal fans know that she could be blunt.
"Anne is known to be abrupt, anyway. But I mean, that is her manner and we’ve just got to live with it," Relph added.
