Prince William and Prince Charles received much favor from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when the latter decided to leave the royal family and moved to the United States.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton speculated that if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still around, they would have come their way.

Prince William Received Favor From Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

The Duke of Cambridge and Prince of Wales are third and second in line to the throne, respectively. Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would step back from their royal duties.

After carrying their final royal engagement, Prince Harry and Markle moved to Canada. They then settled down in the United States. The royal couple said they wanted to be financially independent from the royal family.

Prince Harry and Markle continue to make a noise in the U.S. They also landed multi-million deals with Netflix and Spotify, which cemented their financial stability.

Even if the Sussexes remain global celebrities and are no longer restricted in Britain and the royal family's protocol, their exit from the firm is still a blessing to Prince William and Prince Charles.

"I think the irony is that Prince Charles and Prince William saw themselves as being the leaders of the slimmed-down monarchy," Morton said (via Suggest). "In a way, Harry and Meghan have done them a favor by jumping ship."

He added that if the Sussexes were still with the royals, they probably would have gotten in the future kings' way.

Prince William Hasn't Come To Terms With Harry And Meghan's Megxit Mess

Royal biographer Omid Scobie, author of Finding Freedom, weighed in on the royal siblings' relationship after Megxit. Prince William "has not been able to come to terms" with Prince Harry's exit from their family, Scobie told Entertainment Tonight.

"I don’t just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they are not talking that much."

Prince William and Prince Harry reunited at Prince Philip's funeral in April. They were also together at the unveiling of their mom Princess Dianas statue in August.

According to Scobie, they are still not in regular communication and remain on "different paths."

"I think that William has certainly become someone who is really living his life for the crown, for the institution. Harry has really sort of gone completely in the opposite direction," Scobie added.
