Prince William and Kate Middleton’s happy marriage was briefly rocked by the rumors claiming that the future king had an affair with his wife’s good friend, Rose Hanbury.
The speculations died down naturally amid reports that Prince William’s legal team threatened to sue publications that would publish the dubious claims.
But just days before Middleton turned 40 years old, the scandal once again made headlines, with some sources claiming that Prince William and Hanbury’s affair is still ongoing.
Kate Middleton Humiliated By Prince William’s Cheating Scandal
In Touch Weekly, in its Jan. 31 issue, claimed that the timing of the cheating scandal couldn’t have been worse for the Duchess of Cambridge. After all, they made headlines days before her special day.
An unnamed source claimed that the scandal ruined the Duke of Cambridge’s surprise for his wife. And the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding was completely ruined.
“It was ruined. William and Kate have been arguing again. Recent developments have brought so many horrible memories for her. The sleepless nights worrying about Rose and William getting too close. She’s being humiliated again. You’d never know it publicly – she’s always smiling. In her birthday photoshoot, she never looked happier. But who wouldn’t be torn up inside? Kate isn’t the type to turn a blind eye,” the unnamed source said.
The unnamed source also said that Middleton would never be able to escape Hanbury because she also lives in the United Kingdom. Unlike Meghan Markle, who the Duchess of Cambridge also, allegedly, had a feud with, who the future queen consort never gets to cross paths with.
“Rose is here to stay. But Kate knows she has to keep calm and carry on,” the unnamed source said.
Prince Harry To Discuss Prince William’s Affair In His Memoir
The unnamed source added that more details about Prince William’s alleged affair will most likely be unveiled after Prince Harry’s memoir is released. After all, the royal siblings used to be very close so it’s highly likely for the second in line to the throne to have opened up about his relationship with Hanbury.
“Some people believe the brothers’ falling out had nothing to do with Meghan but instead, that Harry was furious with William over rumors about the affair, considering what their mother, Princess Diana had to endure what their father, Prince Charles. Apparently, William is extremely nervous about what Harry may reveal,” the unnamed source concluded.

Prince William, Rose Hanbury Resurfaced Three Years Later
Prince William and Hanbury’s alleged affair resurfaced earlier this month because of journalist Alex Tiffin via Twitter. He responded to a tweet about Prince Harry and Markle from the editor of one publication.
“I genuinely worry that Prince Harry and Meghan’s criticism of unnamed racist royals has increased the danger of attacks on the #RoyalFamily. Security needs to be stepped up as a result,” Daily Mail editor Richard Eden tweeted.
“Deputy Editor of a race-baiting newspaper trying to divert attention from the huge L in court. Also, I’d rather the media just named Prince William as the person in question, instead of [expletive] footing about it, like they did this affair with the Rose lassie,” Tiffin tweeted.
“PS. Injunctions from the High Court in London are worthless in Scotland, my residence, and no amount of legal pressure is going to erase the fact Prince William had an affair with Rose Hanbury. Enjoy your evening,” Tiffin wrote in a follow-up tweet.
In 2019, Prince William and Middleton did not respond to the rumors about the future king having an affair. But the royal’s legal team threatened to sue those that will keep reporting about the affair even without proof, according to 7 News.co.au.
“In addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculation in respect of our clients’ private life also constitutes a breach of his privacy pursuant to Article 8 of the European Convention to Human Rights,” Prince William’s lawyers said in their letter.
According to Page Six, libel laws in the UK are reportedly the reverse of the rules in the United States. In Britain, the defendant is the one responsible for showing proof that what they said was true.
