King Charles Reportedly Lost Composure Due To Prince William, Kate Middleton's Tardiness

The Prince and Princess of Wales were supposed to arrive earlier than His Majesty during his coronation. However, they were late, and observers noticed their delayed entrance, which was captured in footage from the event.

Based on the footage, King Charles was not pleased with the turn of events, Showbiz CheatSheet reported. The outlet noted how anxious the King was as he waited for a few minutes to make his grand entrance with his wife, Queen Camilla.

Lip readers told Express that he told Camilla, "I'm worried," which is reportedly a reference to the Prince and Princess of Wales' delay.

King Charles reportedly added:

"I’m worried about time, I mean it’s been longer this time and, well, erm, I mean look! I know."

A second lip reader claimed King Charles told Camilla they "can never be on time." Due to their tardiness, the Waleses walked behind the King in the procession instead of entering the Abbey ahead of His Majesty.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expected to arrive at Westminster Abbey ahead of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Thus, royal onlookers wondered what happened since they had arrived late.

An insider told Omid Scobie that the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived late with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis due to their kids, Express reported. Fortunately, their tardiness only made a little impact at the ceremony.

Prince George didn't arrive late because he was among the King's Pages of Honors, along with Nicholas Barclay, 13, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, 13, and Ralph Tollemache, 12. The second in line to the throne arrived at Westminster Abbey ahead of his parents.
