Prince William and Kate Middleton will be moving to a new home after their usual summer in Norfolk. Their three children are also transferring to a new school. According to a royal expert, the move is a welcome change.

Why Prince William And Kate Middleton Are Leaving Kensington Palace For Windsor

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are moving to Windsor to be nearer to the Queen. But aside from that, they reportedly decided to have a new home for the best interest of their three children, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

"I think Wills and Kate need space to bring up their children. Kensington Palace is a glorious prison for kids – they want to be able to play football without being watched from behind the gates," royal biographer and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine told The Sun.

"I think Windsor will be perfect for them, as they will have lots of freedom and they can all be at school together."

Another source told Us Weekly that Windsor will be perfect for the Cambridge kids as it is more spacious. They will have all the freedom to do what they want compared to Kensington Palace.

"Charlotte can go horse riding in the open air and George can play football on extensive grounds," the source explained. "Louis loves being close to his great-grandma, and he’s going to take tennis lessons this summer. They're starting over there, and George, Charlotte and Louis are really excited about going to a new school and being in the countryside in the fresh air where there’s lots of space for them to play freely."

The place is also close to Bucklebury, where the Duchess of Cambridge grew up and where her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, live.

Middleton's sister Pippa and her investment banker husband, James Matthews have also invested in a place in the county, so that they will be living near each other.

Prince William's Wife Kate Middleton Reportedly Almost A Prisoner In Kensington Palace

It's not the first time Seward mentioned how restricted Kensington Palace is for the royal family. The Prince Philip Revealed: A Man of His Century author said on True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat mentioned how Prince Harry allegedly described his sister-in-law Kate Middleton to be like a prisoner in Kensington Palace.

"I think what William and Catherine will have for their children is the freedom they didn't have at Kensington Palace," she was quoted as saying by the Mirror. "I remember Harry saying to a friend of mine that Catherine was almost a prisoner at Kensington Palace, and I thought don't be ridiculous, it’s the most gorgeous place to live in London!"

She added, "Then I thought, in a way they are prisoners, they have a beautiful house and garden but beyond that garden are hundreds of people every day and massive security."
