Prince William and Kate Middleton may have angered Princess Anne. A royal expert claimed that the Princess Royal disapproved of breaking protocols which the Prince and Princess of Wales did during a visit to Scarborough.

Prince William And Kate Middleton' Risk The Wrath' Of Princess Anne?

The Prince and Princess of Wales met the crowd when they visited Scarborough this week. They even posed for selfies with the crowd, which went against the royal tradition and may have "offended" or "risk the wrath of Princess Anne."

"Princess Anne is not too keen on breaking royal protocol. She comes from an era where the protocol was incredibly important," royal correspondent and commentator Neil Sean claimed on his YouTube channel, Express reported.

"While she has had to adapt in the modern age, she told me once that she couldn't understand why people wanted to film events on their phones, rather than being in the moment."

The expert added, "The Prince and Princess of Wales have taken it a step further by posing for a number of selfies. This is not something the late Queen or the Princess Royal are keen on."

According to Sean, Prince William and Middleton "seemingly broke royal protocol" when they agreed to do multiple selfies with royal fans. He even noted how one man put an arm around the future queen consort, which would not have happened a few years ago.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Have New Plans For The Monarchy?

King Charles and the heir to the throne are both on the same page when it comes to modernizing the monarchy. Sean believed that what Prince William and Middleton did may be among the changes he wanted to introduce to the institution.

"Sources in the Palace tell me that this is simply the way that William and Catherine want to run things - that it's about reaching out to the people who have come to see them," Sean explained.

However, Queen Elizabeth's only daughter is reportedly unlikely to embrace the said change. "According to Anne, she simply just does not get it," Sean added.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold seemingly doubled down on Sean's sentiment. He also believed that the royals' tactile approach was here to stay.

"I think William and the other younger royals have realised that they can't get away with being aloof," Harrold told OK! Magazine.
