Prince William is reportedly livid after the Sussexes aired their family drama to the public. King Charles wants to give Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a chance and have them on his coronation day. A royal correspondent suggested that it's His Majesty's duty to protect his eldest son, too.

Prince William Needs Protection From Prince Harry, Meghan Markle?

Dan Wootton, a New Zealand-born British journalist and broadcaster, weighed in on the Sussexes' attendance at King Charles' coronation. There are reports claiming that His Majesty wants the Sussexes to witness the big event, but his eldest son, Prince William, who suffered several blows from the Sussexes, reportedly doesn't want their presence after all the things they said against the royal family.

Wootton said the Prince of Wales' anger is justifiable. The royal correspondent also reminded the British monarch to protect the heir to the throne from the Sussexes.

"I believe it is Charles who must find a way to maintain the comfort and dignity of William, who has done nothing wrong and tried to put duty first in the most tortured of family situations," Wootton wrote.

He noted how the royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, tried to include Prince Harry and Markle during the mourning period for the late Queen Elizabeth. However, their efforts made no difference in changing the Sussexes "vile behavior in moths that followed," the journalist added.

Wootton believed King Charles wanted to think the best of his son and daughter-in-law. His Majesty has been affectionate to the royal couple, who is now based in Los Angeles.

He added that if the monarch wants to push with his plans of having the Sussexes around, he should also protect the heir to the throne from them, who are allegedly "seeking ultimate destruction, not a compromise."

"So if Charles wants to proceed with naively thinking the Sussexes can be included at the Coronation without causing any damage, it's on him to make sure that the Prince of Wales is completely insulated from any form of forced reunion or conversation, either in public or private."

Wootton believed that the easiest scenario for everyone is for the Sussexes to skip King Charles' coronation and celebrate Archie's birthday in California.

Will Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Attend King Charles' Coronation?

There are different opinions about the Sussexes' attendance at the King's coronation. Royal insiders previously told Daily Mail that Prince William's younger brother would make a 48-hour visit to the United Kingdom sans his wife.

Royal expert Charles Rae believed that Markle could skip the event because she has the perfect excuse. King Charles' coronation will fall on the same day as Archie's 4th birthday, so the former celebrity can stay home and celebrate the special day with her son while her husband supports his dad in the U.K.
