Prince William is getting a lot of flak following the release of BBC's new documentary The Princes And The Press. The show talked about the leaks about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the media within the Kensington Palace, and the netizens immediately blamed the Duke of Cambridge.

Prince William Criticized For Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Leaks

BBC Two's two-part documentary The Princes And The Press premiered Monday. It featured several journalists who talked about Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship with the press.

According to Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie, there were people within the palace who wanted to put Markle "in her place," so they allegedly leaked negative stories about the duchess.

Evening Standard royal editor Robert Jobson also alleged in an interview with Australian breakfast show Sunrise that he was sure some royal aides within the Kensington Palace leaked Prince Harry and Markle to the press.

"They can deny it all they like until they're blue in the face, but there's been an awful lot of leaking, particularly from Kensington Palace," he said.

Twitter users immediately slammed Prince William for the leak involving his brother and sister-in-law.

"But Prince William leads Kensington Palace. I thought he 'banned aides from briefing against family members' but it sounds like they were leaking like a sieve. Was this a failure of leadership or did his staff do exactly what their principal wanted?" one netizen asked.

The question received several responses from the netizens, with many blaming the Duke of Cambridge for the Kensington Palace aides who leaked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the press.

"Not a failure of leadership. The leader sets the tone and the employees follow suit. It is the preferred leadership style. Look how the employees called Meghan all those derogatory names in that book (lacey book I think). They had no fear of doing it. It is sanctioned," another user replied.

"I have been saying it nonstop. He goes from bad to worse. Diana had an instinct about those things. She would have never allowed this. William is totally embarrassing himself and actually Harry us being proven so right," another wrote.

"Please let's save these before they delete them. We need these receipts circulated. William has nowhere to hide. He was briefing against his brother but especially Meghan. Karma will deal with him," a different user added.

Prince William, Prince Charles, Queen Slammed BBC Documentary

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William reunited and they let it known that they didn't approve the documentary. Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace released a joint statement shown at the end of The Princes And The Press criticizing the show.

"A free, responsible and open press is of vital importance to a healthy democracy," the statement read according to Evening Standard. "However, too often it is overblown and unfounded claims from unnamed sources that are presented as facts and it is disappointing when anyone, including the BBC, gives them credibility."

BBC addressed the royal statement saying that the special was "about how royal journalism is done and features a range of journalists from broadcast and the newspaper industry."

The network hoped to show the relationship of Prince Charles's sons to the press, including the illegal activities that newspapers do like hacking and blagging to target the members of the royal family.
