Prince William Doesn’t Acknowledge Queen Consort Camilla as His Children’s Grandmother? How’s King Charles’ Eldest Son’s Relationship With His Second Wife After Princess Diana?

Prince William and Queen Consort Camilla seem to enjoy a warm relationship. However, according to a new book, King Charles' eldest son has made it clear that she is only his father's wife but not his children's grandmother.

Prince William Doesn't Consider Stepmother Camilla As His Children's Grandmother?

Last weekend, Buckingham Palace dropped a picture of the new fab four featuring King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton. It's undeniable that Camilla has forged a strong position in the monarchy.

However, according to British journalist and royal scribe Angela Levin in her new book Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort, Prince William has drawn a line when it comes to Camilla's relationship with his and Kate Middleton's children. The Prince and Princess of Wales share three kids — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

"William has made it clear that Camilla is the wife of his father, but not a step-grandmother to his children," Levin wrote, Express reported.

The book added that the Cambridge kids have "two grandfathers but one one grandmother", referring to King Charles and Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton, respectively.

Levin also gave an overview of Camilla's relationship with King Charles' two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and with his connection to the Duke of Cambridge's children.

"William and Harry were 23 and 20 respectively when Camilla officially became their stepmother in 2005. She was more of a friendly grown-up they saw occasionally at royal gatherings. She tried to be encouraging rather than influential," Levin continued.

"Nor has she tried to take over any responsibility as a step-grandmother to the Cambridges' children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, especially as Catherine's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, are so close."

How's King Charles' Son Prince William and Second Wife Camilla's Relationship

Prince William and Prince Harry's loyalty are to their mom, Princess Diana. They were aware of the affair between their father and stepmother.

Princess Diana said in her infamous Panorama interview that her relationship with Prince Charles didn't work because "there were three of us in this marriage," implying King Charles and Camilla's affair.

However, it has been years, and Prince William has already slowly warmed up with his stepmother.

Levin appeared on Sky News Australia to promote her new book. During her guesting, she discussed with host Erin Molan Camilla's relationship with Prince William and Middleton.

"With Prince William, it's absolutely good. With Catherine, it's very good," she said of the Queen Consorts' relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales. "She often goes out with Camilla and King Charles to see art exhibitions. William's not so keen on that, but [Kate] goes. They're very warm."

She added, "There's a marvelous picture in the papers today of the four of them standing together, smiling, looking very relaxed. [It has a] 'we're working together' sort of feeling."
