Prince William and Prince Harry have been feuding for years, according to reports. However, a body language expert noticed the heir apparent performing a "barrier gesture" toward his younger brother.
Prince William Gave Prince Harry A 'Barrier Gesture'
Last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the National Service of Thanksgiving in honor of Queen Elizabeth on June 3, 2022. It was part of the late monarch's Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Body language expert Judi James noticed that the future king gave his younger sibling an "opposite of an acknowledgment" and a "barrier gesture" when he and his wife, Kate Middleton, passed by at the Sussexes' seats at St. Paul's Cathedral.
James told Mirror:
"There was the opposite to an acknowledgment from William as he walked past Harry’s row during the parade out of the service."
She added:
"Sucking in his lips and with his chin pulled up in a gesture of resolve, he appeared to turn his head in the other direction for a moment, raising his order of service high in a barrier gesture."
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Had Different Body Language At The Event?
James also took a closer look at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's body language. In her opinion, Markle was "as perfect as it could have been under difficult circumstances."
She said this about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's gestures at the event.
"Her posture was upright and her smile was designed for a calm but low-key appearance. While Harry’s emotions and behaviour seemed to fluctuate between subdued and anxious and odd moments of fun break-outs that looked like another symptom of inner anxiety or tension, Meghan used a small touch on his back as what looked like the only other PDA than their signature hand clasp."
At the event, Prince Harry and Markle were seated in the back row, away from the senior members of the royal family. When the service was over, Prince Harry and his wife were spotted with his royal cousin Zara. The expert noted how Prince Harry reportedly seemed to look for support from Markle.
James continued:
"Harry’s expression did suggest some relief as he joked with Zara as he searched for his car on the way out and he threw a wide, open-mouthed grin in her direction from the pews, but otherwise he fell into a haunted eye expression with some rapid blinking to suggest inner anxiety, leaning in and down to Meghan when she spoke as though keen to get some support."
