Prince Harry's alleged biological dad James Hewitt continues to make headlines today even though his affair with Princess Diana ended a long time ago. Hewitt's name was dragged into the fourth season of The Crown. But very little is known about him other than he had a relationship with the late Princess of Wales.
James Hewitt, Princess Diana's First Conversation Felt Natural?
In the book Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, former protection officer Ken Wharfe detailed how James Hewitt and Princess Diana's relationship began. He said that it was in 1986 that the former couple first crossed paths. And their first conversation had to do with horse riding.
"Their first conversation felt natural, she said, and it was this that sparked her attraction. As she put it, they got along famously. He told her he was a riding instructor and, when she confessed she was afraid of horses, offered to help her overcome her fear," Wharfe said (via Town & Country).
Shortly after, Hewitt and Princess Diana's affair officially started. Wharfe said that one of the reasons why the mom of two decided to have a relationship with Hewitt was because King Charles was already having an affair with Queen Consort Camilla by this time.

Princess Diana Received The Attention And Affection She Relished From James Hewitt?
Hewitt and Princess Diana reportedly got along really well with each other.
"Hewitt, a natural womanizer, gave her the attention and affection she relished, and then the passion she yearned for. The pair usually met at an old cottage in Devon belonging to Shirley, Hewitt's mother, where the creaking bedroom floorboards told the story more loudly than any confession," Wharfe said.
And during his interview, Hewitt did not also shy away from sharing intimate details regarding his relationship with Princess Diana.
"I'd cook and [Diana] would wash up. Just dinner and relaxing and laughing," he told Sunday Night in 2017.
But right before the 1990s, Hewitt was given command of a tank squadron to relocate to Saudi Arabia. So, he and Princess Diana were left with no other option but to end their relationship.
"Diana felt betrayed: he had chosen his career over her. At first, she did everything she could to prevent him from going, even threatening to speak to his commanding officer. When James refused to give up his career, Diana let the affair wane," Wharfe said.
James Hewitt Denies That He's Prince Harry's Biological Dad
Even though Princess Diana only met Hewitt in 1996, rumors claiming that he's Prince Harry's father continue to exist today. Some royal fans are convinced that Prince Harry looks more like Hewitt than King Charles. And the similarity of their hair color also convinced some people that they are related.
However, Hewitt already denied the rumors during an interview years ago. At the time, interviewer Melissa Doyle asked Hewitt if he was Prince Harry's father, and he said no.
Doyle then asked him why he thinks that rumors wouldn't die down.
"Sells papers. It's worse for him probably, poor chap," he said (via E! News).
