Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not set foot in the United Kingdom together since they quit The Firm last year. Multiple reports have been claiming that the Duchess of Sussex has no plans to return to Prince Harry’s home because she wants to avoid awkward encounters with the royal family.
But with the holiday season looming, royal fans are wondering if this would be the year that Prince Harry and Markle reunite with the royal family. There are hopes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can set aside their issues with the British clan especially since this could reportedly be Queen Elizabeth’s last Christmas.
Her Majesty was hospitalized last month, and she also sprained her back last week. So, some royal experts are convinced that the queen’s health is failing.
Prince Harry Wants To Celebrate The Holidays With The Royal Family
OK! magazine, in its Nov. 29 issue, claimed that Prince Harry is determined to return to the United Kingdom so that he could celebrate Christmas with the royal family. Unfortunately, Markle doesn’t have any plans to join her husband. As such, Prince Harry cannot bring her children back home to hang out with their relatives.
“Meghan once said she would never set foot in the U.K. again after how she was treated by The Firm. And no one thinks she would ever let Archie or Lili out of her sight for even five minutes, so it’s likely Harry would make the trip alone,” an unnamed source said.
Prince Harry Wants To Reunite With Prince William, Perform Royal Duties
Prince Harry is, reportedly, anxious to heal the rift sooner rather than later, and he’s also hoping that his children, Archie and Lilibet could spend some time with the queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
Since Prince Harry and Markle’s children have not also spent time with their cousins, the former’s biggest wish is for his kids to also see Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Duke of Sussex also wants to reunite with his estranged brother.
“He loves and misses William. He doesn’t regret leaving royal life and settling in California, but he’s hoping to find a happy medium where there’s no more tension and awkwardness,” the unnamed source claimed.
Prince Harry is also, allegedly, offering his services to the royal family. Even though he’s not a senior working royal anymore, he wants to maximize his time while he’s in the United Kingdom.
So, he allegedly offered to fill in on royal duties as an official counselor of state while the queen is recovering from her health issues.

The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex’s Thanksgiving, Christmas Plans Are Set
According to Page Six, Prince Harry and Markle won’t join the royal family for Christmas this year.
“There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course, the staff knows that Harry and Meghan are not coming. If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now. But this is Her Majesty’s first Christmas without her husband, so one would have hoped they would want to be with her,” a source said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t also travel to the United Kingdom during their Thanksgiving break.
During her appearance on the Ellen Show, Markle said that her entire family will be home for Thanksgiving, and she would cook for them.
“I love to cook. We'll be home and just sort of relax and settle in. It's our second Thanksgiving at home in California, so it will be nice,” Markle said.
Contrary to rumors, Prince Harry doesn’t also feel the need to return to the United Kingdom for good amid claims that he dislikes California. According to Markle, her husband loves the state.
“Well, we moved here during the lockdown, exactly when things shut down, so we've just been able to spend a lot of time at home and creating our home, but I think it's just the lifestyle and the weather is pretty great. But we’re just happy,” she said via People.
