Prince Harry shared his drug experience in his memoir Spare. However, one outlet claimed that doing so could put his U.S. visa at risk, and he might be barred from America.
Prince Harry Could Be Barred From The United States Following Spare?
The Duke of Sussex confessed in his upcoming book Spare that he did cocaine, smoked cannabis and took hallucinogenic mushrooms. However, typical applicants would usually be denied a visa over their history of drug substances. But U.S. authorities noted that entry into the country is granted on a 'case-by-case' basis, Daily Mail reported.
The outlet added that it wasn't clear if Prince Harry detailed his history of substance abuse when he applied for a U.S. visa to move to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.
"Immigration experts warn that if he 'lied' about his past, the Duke could have his visa revoked," the report added.
Prince Harry detailed in his memoir how he took to cocaine on a shooting weekend when he was 17. He also did a "few more lines" on other occasions.
Prince William's brother also admitted to hallucinating during a celebrity-filled event in California and smoking cannabis after his first date with Markle.
Per Daily Mail, most applicants with a drug history would be denied American visas. The U.S. immigration rules state that an individual's "current and/or past actions, such as drug or criminal activities . . . may make the applicant ineligible for a visa."
It's unclear what types of U.S. visa Prince Harry holds, but analysts speculated that he either holds a spousal visa — sponsored by his American wife — or an O-1 visa given to people with "extraordinary ability."
If the Duke of Sussex holds the O-1 visa, he has to renew it after three years. Since they moved to California in 2020, it could expire this year, and his renewal application could be impacted by his admission of drug history in his memoir.

Prince Harry Admits To Drinking Heavily, Using Hard Drugs On 60 Minutes
Prince Harry doubled down on his admission about his history of drug abuse in his interview with Anderson Cooper in 60 Minutes. He told the host that he did it in response to his mother, Princess Diana's death.
"It was obvious to us as kids the British press' part in our mother's misery and I had a lot of anger inside of me that luckily, I never expressed to anybody," he said, New York Post reported. "But I resorted to drinking heavily. Because I wanted to numb the feeling, or I wanted to distract myself from how … whatever I was thinking. And I would, you know, resort to drugs as well."
Prince Harry also shared how using psychedelics, Ayahuasca, psilocybin, and mushrooms helped him deal with his grief and loss.

"I would never recommend people to do this recreationally — but doing it with the right people if you are suffering from a huge amount of loss, grief or trauma, then these things have a way of working as a medicine. For me, they cleared the windshield, the windshield of the misery of loss. They cleared away this idea that I had in my head that– that my mother, that I needed to cry to prove to my mother that I missed her. When in fact, all she wanted was for me to be happy," he said.
