Prince Harry is set to release his first memoir at the end of the year. But there are claims that this could be delayed to accommodate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the highly-anticipated event, there are predictions that the patriarch would also include his accounts in his published work.
Prince Harry’s Memoir Could Be Delayed To Include Platinum Jubilee Accounts
On her Twitter account, royal expert Roya Nikkah confirmed that Prince Harry’s memoir doesn’t have an official release date yet. Royal fans were previously informed that it would be available at the end of the year, but this could be on any date.
“The mystery of Prince Harry’s memoir, which has no publication date yet,” she tweeted.
In the same tweet, Nikkah confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already parted ways with their global press secretary, Toya Holness.
Prince Harry Doesn’t Want To Overshadow Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee
In her article for The Sunday Times, Nikkah also said that pushing back the release date of the memoir can prevent Prince Harry from overshadowing the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Last year, multiple publications predicted that Prince Harry’s memoir could overshadow the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. At the time, former royal butler Grant Harrold said that the timing of Prince Harry’s memoir is not the best.
“I’m sure we all knew this celebration was coming up...So it does seem really strange timing and I would have thought that maybe they would have delayed it personally,” he said (via Marie Claire).
Prince Harry previously released an official statement about his memoir and said that he would be sharing his experiences not as the prince that he was born into but as the man that he has turned into.
“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively. And my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).
Prince Harry To Discuss His Relationship With His Family In His Memoir
As of late, Prince Harry has not revealed what exactly he will talk about in his memoir. But there are claims that it would definitely shake up the British monarchy.
According to Mirror UK, one of the things that the Duke of Sussex can discuss is his relationship with his stepmom, Camilla Parker Bowles. After all, Prince Harry didn’t comment on the queen’s request for Camilla to be styled as queen consort instead of princess consort.
“Although tensions have eased between the two of them over the years, it was more for a show of unity than a close relationship. There were big problems at the start, but as Harry and his brother William aged and matured, things got better, and they can now coexist as adults. They were never close with her and they still aren’t,” the source said.
However, it is important to note that Prince Harry is no longer in a position to comment on such matters because he no longer represents the queen. In fact, he and his wife opted to reside in the United States to have some privacy.
One of Prince Harry’s friends also said that he would most likely talk about his childhood and his relationship with his family in his memoir.
“He has got lots to say about it. People think he’s keeping a low profile to respect the family, but it’s not that. He’s writing a book. He’s got a multi-million-pound book deal and he’s keeping a lot of his opinions for that. The memoir deal states that it should include personal details of personal and family arrangements. And it will be a really intimate take on his feelings about his family and what has gone in the breakdown of the relationship,” his friend said (via Marie Claire).
