Prince Harry recently dropped a major clue that his relationship with Prince Charles and Prince William is still strained. During his interview with Hoda Kotb, the Today journalist asked the Duke of Sussex if he misses his father and older brother. Instead of saying yes or no, Prince Harry dismissed the question and said that his focus at the time was the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry Skewers The Firm During His Interviews
After the interview aired, Prince Harry was criticized by royal experts. And in her column for The Telegraph, journalist Celia Walden said that Prince Harry’s response was an example of how he skewers The Firm. Walden also said that it would’ve been wiser if Prince Harry had responded to the question in a diplomatic manner.
“Let’s take stock of who has so far been nailed on his Dartboard of Displeasure. Harry’s skewered The Firm in a thousand different ways including, seemingly, his own father and brother. Apparently, it wasn’t just ‘his truth’ he felt the need to share with Oprah, but theirs. And as he told the NBC Today show last month, Harry only dropped in on his grandmother en route to the Invictus Games to ensure that she was ‘protected’ and had the ‘right people around her,’” she wrote (via Express).
Walden added that a simple yes would have sufficed even if it’s not necessarily true, and this is what diplomacy is all about.

Prince Harry Attacks Prince Charles, Prince William During His Interviews
The journalist also pointed out that this wasn’t the first time that Prince Harry subtly attacked Prince Charles and Prince William during an interview. While speaking with Oprah Winfrey last year, the Duke of Sussex also claimed that his father and older brother are trapped.
“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that,” he said.
Following the interview, Queen Elizabeth released a statement that some recollections may vary but stressed that allegations of racism are taken very seriously.
Prince William also stepped out after Prince Harry’s interview to tell a reporter that the royal family isn’t racist.
Prince Charles AndPrince William Stopped Trying To Reconcile With Prince Harry
Earlier this year, royal commentator Neil Sean said that he thinks Prince Charles and Prince William stopped trying to reconcile with Prince Harry after their failed attempts to do so.
“Prince Charles and Prince William have resigned themselves to the fact that Prince Harry really is well unreachable right now, and certainly for some time to come. So as for the brothers reconnecting, re-patching, and seemingly getting on, even at the forthcoming memorial for the former, as we know, wonderful Duke of Edinburgh in April at Westminster Abbey, that seems far out of reach. And when you look at the footage of them both veiling the statues for their late mother, Princess Diana, they certainly did look worlds apart. And while Harry was simply acting out for the cameras, Prince William has ever remained statesmanlike, and more importantly, that's the one thing that really antagonizes his younger brother, Prince Harry,” Sean said (via The News).
But after Prince Harry’s interview with Kotb, a source claimed that he’s trying to make amends with Prince William and hopes that Prince Charles could mediate for them.
