Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance at King Charles III's coronation remains up in the air. However, multiple sources revealed that plans for their appearance at the historic event are now being finalized.

Prince Harry and Meghan's rep confirmed they had received an invitation to attend King Charles' coronation on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. However, at the time, the couple has yet to make a decision and haven't made an announcement about it until today.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle May Attend King Charles' Coronation

There are strong assumptions that the Sussexes will attend King Charles' coronation.

"There have been lengthy discussions between the Sussexes and the palace; there is a time crunch on this, of course," a royal insider told Page Six. "It's such a historical event, and it's hoped that Harry and Meghan will be there."

However, the decision still lies in the Duke of Sussex's hands, with only a highly-placed source adding, "All families are difficult, but this is no normal family, of course."

"Harry has a lot of questions about how the event will work," the tipster continued.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Invitation to King Charles' Coronation

"I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation," the couple's spokesperson said in March via Hello! Magazine. "An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time."

But though they have yet to reveal their decision, there are theories that they may have already responded to the invitation.

The Telegraph reported that the RSVPs for the coronation had to be sent by Monday, April 3. Hence, the huge event's guests, along with Prince Harry and Meghan, might have already replied to the invitation.

It's also good to note that the military veteran went to London last week to attend a court hearing, and some wondered what it might mean for the coronation.

That time, he was able to travel without his wife and kids, Archie and Lilibet. So, he could do the same during his father's crowning, especially since the coronation date fell on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday.

Royal watchers believed Prince Harry would either go to the U.K. on his own on May 6 to witness King Charles' coronation or be accompanied by Meghan. But what might likely happen is he won't bring his kids with him due to the dangers of lack of security.
