Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Carry Out Loyalty Tests To Their Staff?

The Times royal correspondent Valentine Low, author of the new book Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown, made some shocking revelations about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to him, Prince Harry was allegedly obsessed with the media and constantly tested his staff members' loyalty. His issue against the press was allegedly present even before he met his wife, Meghan Markle.

"This was brewing for a long time - before Meghan. Harry had this obsession with the media. He was so very unhappy," Low wrote, Express reported. "He would use this phrase the whole time, 'the palace syndrome', when you won't fight the battles he wants, because you have been institutionalised. Giving in to the media was a key symptom of whether you had developed it."

Low continued, "It was a constant test of loyalty: 'Are you going to protect me? Or have you just become one of them, who won't fight for me?' It was exhausting."

Prince Harry Reportedly Obsessed With The Media

Those who have been following Prince Harry and Prince William's lives are probably aware that both are not that trusting of the press.

Prince Harry even blamed the media for his mother's death. Princess Diana died in a car crash while paparazzi chased her car.

"I think one of the hardest things to come to terms with is the fact that the people that chased her into the tunnel were the same people that were taking photographs of her while she was still dying on the back seat of the car," Prince Harry said, CBS News reported.

According to Low, Prince William's brother was obsessed with the press. He also allegedly mistrusts the courtiers in the palace.

"Harry's obsession with the media; his sense of frustration that he wasn't achieving everything that he could; his mistrust of the courtiers in the other households; the constant loyalty tests of his own staff," Low wrote.

Prince Harry's mistrust of the press had been an issue even before Markle, and it worsened after they got married.

"All of this was there before Meghan arrived on the scene. But after she turned up, it would get significantly worse," The Times correspondent added. "It was a very difficult experience for many of them. Some people told me they were completely destroyed, they felt sick, they were shook."
