Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly have a strained relationship with the royal family. Their Netflix docuseries and his memoir Spare are reportedly alarming his pals in the U.K. as they were concerned about how it would turn out for them.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, Have The Potential To Make Big Allegations?
Royal expert Nick Bullen weighed in on Prince Harry's memoir and Netflix docuseries. According to him, his friends back in the United Kingdom are questioning his decision to revisit his past.
Among their concerns are the contents of the two projects. Bullen also considered their past interviews and how they affected the royal family.
"And then those that are sort of closer to [King Charles III] and the queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales — who are part of the palace infrastructure — are absolutely bracing themselves for what's about to come because nobody knows," he told Us Weekly before adding, "History has shown us that when the Sussexes speak, they can throw out some pretty big accusations."
During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Markle alleged that a member of the royal family raised concern over their unborn child's complexion. The revelation prompted many netizens to call the royal family racist.
The royal couple didn't drop the name of the alleged racist royal. According to them, it would be damaging to the firm. However, many felt that not naming the royal who made the remark subjected all the members to the racist allegations.
Prince Harry Has Reportedly Been Doing His Research For His Projects
The Duke of Sussex has reportedly kept in touch with his childhood friends to recount the most impactful moments of his childhood, including the "darker moments in his life." However, Bullen wasn't sure if it was for the memoir or his book.
"Now, whether that's for the book or the documentary, I don't know, but I know a lot of people have been saying to him, 'Why are you going back over this old brand? Why are you digging all of this up again?'" Bullen told Us Weekly. "So, I think those closest to him in the U.K. or those who were very close to him in the U.K. in the past are slightly concerned about how far he's going. Now, whether he puts all of that in the book or the doc, I don't know, but he's certainly been doing a lot of early childhood research."
While the contents of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's projects remain a secret, many believed they would include controversies. As how Bullen put it, "there needs to be some meat in this sandwich."
"Certainly I think [that] the questions he's been asking have been raising a number of eyebrows," Bullen added.
