Prince Harry has been warned about how his anticipated memoir could affect his relationship with his family. A royal expert believed that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, should be stripped of their royal titles because his book, Spare, could be damaging to the institution.

British journalist and investigative reporter Tom Bower weighed in on Prince Harry's upcoming book, Spare. For him, the memoir will only drag the royal family through the mud and bolster their damaging CBS sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.
"I don't think they should be allowed to call themselves duke and duchess anymore, and I think the only way in which they can be undermined and reduced in importance in America is to say, 'Well, if you think that of us, this is our family, this is Britain, then you don't need to keep your titles anymore,'" Bower, the author of Revenge, said on Good Morning Britain, Life&Style reported. "If they want to make their money out of trashing Britain, then why should they be recognized as the duke and duchess?"
However, Dr. Tessa Dunlop defended the Sussexes and argued with her fellow author. The Elizabeth and Philip scribe pointed out that as someone who profited from Prince Harry and Markle's exodus from the royal family, Bower should not be quick to judge.
"Harry, he's had a pretty rough ride in his young life. Meanwhile, you are sitting there in your little establishment position, raking it in off the back of their arguable 'misfortune' or 'fortune' depending on how you spin the coin," Dunlop said. "Yes, they no longer belong in that family, yes, they do a lot of sun-drenched photographs and they've dropped the royal regalia, so what? They're a different generation from you Tom, let them be."

King Charles Could Remove Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Royal Title?
Vanity Fair royal editor, Katie Nicholl, author of the new book The New Royals, shared her thoughts about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's future in the monarchy under King Charles' reign. According to her, the new monarch will not tolerate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if they remain critical to the institution.
"[King] Charles is not going to stand back and let the family or the institution or the reputation of the crown, which is everything to him, be tarnished or indeed trashed," Nicholl said. "I think perhaps there might be a question mark over the future of Harry and Meghan's titles, potentially, if they are seen to be deliberately tarnishing the reputation of the monarchy. Absolutely."

King Charles has reportedly gone into severe crisis-management mode due to the Sussexes' projects. He reportedly warned his son that they would be cut off from the royal fold for good if his book damaged the royal family.
Meanwhile, British socialite and royal author Lady Colin Campbell doesn't think that people should be bothered by Prince Harry's book. Campbell said on GB News that Prince Harry has a "loose relationship with the truth," and his claims would be "very easily disproven."
"I think no matter what he says, he has a credibility problem, and also he has a very maladjusted relationship [with] that," the Diana in Private author added.
Prince Harry's memoir Spare will hit shelves on Jan. 10, 2023.
