Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance at King Charles' coronation remains uncertain. However, one journalist said if it were up to him, the Sussexes would not receive an invite.

Should King Charles Invite Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To His Coronation?

British journalist Piers Morgan, who is also one of the critics of the Sussexes, spoke with The Times royal correspondent Valentine Low. Morgan asked the author of Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown if Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be present at King Charles' coronation.

Low said King Charles is likely to invite his brother, the Duke of York. He was also adamant that Prince Harry and Markle would receive an invite because it would be "petty and vindictive" for the King if they didn't.

"I wouldn't invite one of my sons if he'd done that to the family," Morgan chimed in.

"That's why you're not King, Piers," Low responded, prompting the panel joining Morgan on the said episode to laugh.

"At the moment, Valentine. At the moment. Strange things have happened," Morgan said.

King Charles Will Reportedly Invite Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

Despite the drama, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought to the royal family in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and his memoir Spare, royal experts said King Charles will still invite his youngest son to his coronation.

"My sources close to the King say that he will be extending that olive branch and that he will be inviting Meghan and Harry to the coronation," Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told ET.

British journalist and royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti echoed the same sentiment. According to him, the royal family doesn't want drama and is likely already making an effort to reconcile with the Sussexes.

"I suspect that there are some efforts going on to try and make some form of reconciliation ... I think because they don't want [family tensions] to upstage what's going on on that very important day," he told Us Weekly.
