Prince Harry wants to be catered by the Met police whenever he and his family are in the United Kingdom. However, there are no chances that the Queen will give in to his demand, a report says.
Prince Harry Won't Get What He Wants?
The Duke of Sussex expressed his security concerns for his family in the U.K. According to Prince Harry, he offered to pay for police protection to ensure himself, his wife Meghan Markle, and their children Archie and baby Lili in his home country. However, he was told "no."
He applied for a judiciary review after being refused twice. The Duke wants round-the-clock police protection for him and his family whenever they are in the U.K. He applied for judicial review after an incident in London in July 2021 when his car was chased by photographers while leaving a charity event.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, told the duke that the Met Police are not "guns for hire," Express reported.
The Queen is reportedly not giving in to his security demands.
"This is not a matter for Her Majesty. She certainly won’t cave into his demands," an unnamed source said, as per Express. "Who gets protection is not a gift the Queen can decide to give or take away."
The outlet noted that Prince Harry lost police protection when he quit his royal duties and moved to the United States.
Why Prince Harry Received 'No' From U.K. Home Office Despite Offering To Pay For Police Protection
Many sympathized with Prince Harry after reading his statement about his request to give his family police protection because he offered to pay for it and won't leave the bill to the taxpayers. The duke argued that he needed police protection in his home country because his private security cannot replicate their work.
However, many also slammed the duke because he should have known that Met police are not for hire. They do not cater to private citizens like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Piers Morgan said in a tweet that Prince Harry was "behaving like a shameless entitled hypocrite." The British journalist said Meghan Markle's husband "gave up his right to police protection when he abandoned Britain & royal duty."

Morgan explained that just like Prince Harry, he offered to pay for police protection because he also received nasty death threats. However, he understood that he is not entitled to it.
"They [Prince Harry and Meghan Markle] very much do want to keep their royal status so they can trade off being royals in the US without fulfilling a moment’s duty to earn them. And they’re even more desperate to keep all the good stuff that comes with being a royal - like police protection when they’re in the UK," Piers wrote for The Sun. "There’s just one problem with this: they’re not entitled to it."
He also explained why Prince Harry and his family do not qualify for police protection.

"Only active royals who do their duty on behalf of the British taxpayers deserve that kind of protection, not runaways who’ve deserted their duty," Morgan added. "Harry and Meghan aren’t real royals anymore, they’re just another pair of Hollywood celebrities on the make."
He suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sort their own protection. They should bring their own security team for full-time protection and only request police help with a specific incident or threat like the rest of the private citizens in the U.K.
