Prince Harry had already shared his personal story in his memoir Spare. However, it seemed that he still didn't get what he wanted because he still wanted to be heard, according to a body language expert.

Prince Harry's Body Language At Recent Virtual Event Explained

The Duke of Sussex sat down for an interview with trauma therapist Dr. Gabor Maté on March 4, where they talked about their trauma and healing. The viewers paid $33 for the 90-minute livestream.

Body language expert Judi James analyzed Prince William's younger brother's actions, and she claimed that he was "craving attention" and was "desperate" to be heard and understood.

Here's what James told Daily Mail:

"Harry's body language suggests a man desperately keen to speak and get the message across of his personal emotions and trauma. His wide leg splay and the way he sits towards the edge of his sofa seat signal confidence and comfort in these 'reveals.'"

He noted Prince Harry's rueful smile while he spoke to Maté, including his alleged dramatic gesticulation. James said there was clearly no need for Prince Harry to be drawn out, but his emotional responses seemed to be pouring out "as though he is desperate for his story to be heard, understood and even felt."

James continued:

"Exaggerated gesticulation like this can be a sign of craving attention to be heard and understood. It can also suggest some kind of 'air-mapping' for the speaker to get make more sense of the things they are remembering and relating."

Maté, who is considered a trauma expert, is a Holocaust survivor. He had gone through a lot in his personal life.

He was born in 1944 when the murder of Jews was at its peak. He was only five months old when his maternal grandparents died in Auschwitz. He was only 1 when his mother left him in the care of a stranger to save his life. His aunt disappeared during the war and his dad was a forced laborer for the Nazis.

In 1956, his family immigrated to Canada, where he studied medicine and specialized in addiction and trauma. However, he also has a lot of critics due to allegations of him being anti-semitic.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, the Jewish human rights organization, told JC:

"I am working under the assumption that the Prince did not know this person's political bias, his hatred for the Jewish state, his cavorting with antisemites and his covering for Hamas terrorists."

He added about Maté:

"This is a Holocaust survivor whose worldview sets him apart from 99 per cent of world Jewry. As such, whoever made the arrangements to have this individual appear with Prince Harry, did him no favours. If Prince Harry knew this man's record and still chose him for the interview, our Centre would criticise the prince for such an inappropriate choice."
