Buckingham Palace finally confirmed Prince Harry's attendance at his father, King Charles III's coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6. However, there are claims that the Duke of Sussex intentionally delayed his attendance announcement due to "some demand" for his son, Prince Archie.

A former equerry, who's close to Prince Harry and Prince William, revealed Meghan Markle's husband already made his plans for King Charles' crowning known at the beginning of last month. However, he chose to delay the announcement as he wanted the royal family to recognize his kids.

Prince Harry Allegedly Chose to Delay Coronation Attendance Announcement

The Sussexes' firstborn will be celebrating his fourth birthday on the day of his grandfather's coronation.

Hence, some reports claim that the child's parents want this milestone to be recognized by the royal family.

According to Express, King Charles is reportedly happy to do so and honor his grandson by raising a glass to him during the post-coronation lunch.

However, it remains to be seen if Prince Harry will attend the sit-down meal, as some claim he will quickly return to California after the ceremony to be with his son.

"The King considered a toast to Archie," a source told Mail on Sunday. "But with no member of the Sussex family now due at the lunch, it is highly unlikely he would do in their absence."

Prince Harry, King Charles' Alleged Peace Talks

Meanwhile, Prince Harry reportedly held peace talks with King Charles before confirming his plans to attend the historic event. Despite that, he hasn't spoken to his older brother, Prince William.

The Sussexes' friend said, via The Telegraph, that "there had been positive conversations" between the father and son shortly before the military vet announced his attendance.

This update is seen as an important step toward the reconciliation Prince Harry wants. Sadly, there's no development when it comes to the Prince of Wales, who reportedly "feels deeply betrayed" by the several "personal family revelations" his younger sibling made in his memoir, Spare, and in numerous interviews.

The insider added Prince Harry didn't want to miss King Charles' coronation, knowing it was very important for him.

Despite everything that has happened between the two parties, sources close to the former senior royals claimed they still want to remain in contact with the royal family privately.
