Prince Charles was dubbed “King in Waiting” for being the only person who waited so long to rule the British realm. Should Queen Elizabeth finally pass on the crown and power to her eldest son, the husband of Camilla Parker-Bowles would also be the oldest king to assume the British throne.

The Prince of Wales is reported to be not on good terms with Prince Harry, which allegedly forced the latter to give up his senior royal role and live a private life with wife, Meghan Markle, and kids, Archie and Lilibet, in the United States.

Now, new reports suggested that Prince Charles may also be in trouble with his other son, Prince William, as he reportedly does not have plans to pass the crown straight to his eldest son with Princess Diana. Keep on reading to know more details.

Prince Charles Not Passing Crown To Prince William?

Express U.K. reported that Prince Charles is very unlikely to pass on the crown to Prince William as he allegedly has been waiting for it all his life. The British outlet cited royal historian Professor Anna Whitelock saying she thinks the Duke of Cornwall would not surrender his reign when it comes to the next monarch ascending the throne.

Whitelock allegedly said:

“Charles has always expressed the fact that he wants to be king. He’s been waiting all his life - he’s the longest Prince of Wales, the longest heir in waiting, so I don’t think there’s any chance of that.”

“He [Charles] may not take the throne; he may hand it to his young son. He doesn’t want to do it, such a difficult task.”

Most, if not all, followers of the royal family are aware that Prince Charles would automatically become king upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. His first son, Prince William, would only be able to ascend to the throne if Camilla Parker-Bowles husband chose to abdicate.

Allowing Prince William to take his place as king may be a difficult decision for Prince Charles. As what reports claimed, it seems that the Duke of Cornwall may want his shot to be the monarch first.

Experts at the University College London’s Constitution Unite, as per Yahoo! Life, wrote:

"Having waited over 60 years as heir apparent, it would be natural for Prince Charles to want to assume the throne and perform the royal duties for which he has spent so long preparing. But it would be equally natural if, after reigning for a few years as an increasingly elderly monarch, he chose to invite parliament to hand on the throne to Prince William.”

Prince Charles has yet to comment on these reports. So, devoted followers of Camilla Parker-Bowles’ husband should take all these speculations with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
