Prince Andrew made it to the headlines again after he reached a settlement in the civil s*xual assault case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre. The accuser had claimed that the Duke of York s*xually assaulted her on three occasions when she was a teenager.
The son of Queen Elizabeth has reportedly agreed to pay an undisclosed amount of money to Virginia Giuffre and donate to her charity, which supports victims of abuse. Though the two parties reached a settlement, the legal position of Prince Andrew is that he is neither liable nor not liable for his accuser’s claims.
Recently, a writer claimed that Prince Andrew “wants to keep something hidden” after he made an out-of-court principal settlement with Virginia Giuffre. Keep on reading to know more details.
Is Prince Andrew Hiding Something?
Julie Bindel told GB News that Prince Andrew is trying to stop more information from being released to the public, which explains why he agreed to make a “substantial donation” the Virginia Giuffre’s charity. Talking to GB News (via Express UK), the writer claimed:
"There are various reasons why you might not want a libel trial. The expense is horrendous. I don't think that barrier would be in the way for anyone as wealthy as Prince Andrew but there are other issues which you would want to avoid which is evidence coming out. Of course, I'm not suggesting because we do not know whether or not the allegations against Prince Andrew are founded or unfounded. But what we do know is there was a friendship with Epstein and there were various other times that the men would have been together that other will know about.”

Of Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre’s settlement, she furthered:
"I think that there's something that Prince Andrew will want to keep hidden. We're talking way broader than the direct allegations. We're talking about Virginia's evidence would be extremely embarrassing and might be more than embarrassing but damning."
The donation to a charity in support of victims’ rights reportedly demonstrates Prince Andrew’s regret for his association with Jeffrey Epstein by supporting the “fight against the evils of s*x trafficking and by supporting its victims.”
Most, if not all, royal fans are aware that Virginia Giuffre made a civil claim against Prince Andrew for damages in the U.S. She claimed that Jeffrey Epstein, who is known to be a close pal of Prince Andrew, trafficked her to have s*x with the royal when she was 17, a minor under U.S. law.
An attachment to the letter announcing Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre’s settlement divulged brief details of the agreement between the Duke of York and his accuser. However, it indicated that the exact amount of money would not be disclosed at all.
"Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement. The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre's receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed). Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms Giuffre's charity in support of victims' rights. Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre's character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks. It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others. He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims."

Meghan Markle’s Pal Calls Prince Andrew ‘Irresponsible’
Meanwhile, Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie has stated that Prince Andrew is “taking no responsibility” even after settling a civil s*xual assault case out of court. The British journalist, who is also known to be a close friend of Meghan Markle, wrote on the Independent:
“Andrew convincing our head of state to privately cover close to half of the settlement sum in a civil rape case has resulted in a stain on his mother’s legacy in one of the most defining years of her seven-decade reign.”
The royal biographer furthered:
“It also raises the question that if there’s so much disposable private wealth hidden behind palace walls, why should people of this country – many of whom are struggling to heat their homes this winter – continue to dish out an annual contribution to the royal establishment? The thing is, no matter how you try to polish it, there’s no way to hide the fact that HRH-less Andrew continues to swan around taking no responsibility for his behavior, a taxpayer-funded security team still at his beck and call."
Royal sources also told Omid Scobie that the quick settlement has been a “huge relief” for the royal family with Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations so close.
The author also said that Virginia Giuffre flicking away her claims would not change the fact that Prince Andrew enjoyed and invested in close friendships with s*x traffickers who reportedly destroyed the lives of “countless other children and women.”
Buckingham Palace has yet to comment on Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre’s settlement.
