Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell may have been more than friends, according to a new documentary. Both were linked following their association to Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex trafficking.

Prince Andrew May Have Dated Ghislaine Maxwell

The Duke of York has been making headlines in the past due to his connection with Epstein. However, in a new bombshell documentary, one person who socialized with Prince Andrew, Maxwell and Epstein noticed that the royal prince was very close to the former socialite.

Banker Euan Rellie befriended Maxwell at a university. He recalled when she invited him to a dinner party at Epstein's New York townhouse. According to her, the gathering was "for my friend Prince Andrew."

"She described Andrew as being her friend, not Jeffrey’s," Rellie was quoted by Express as saying in a new ITV documentary. "I got the sense that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine had probably been girlfriend and boyfriend in the past. They had an easy warmth around each other."

Aside from Rellie, former royal protection officer Paul Page speculated that there was something more than friendship between Prince Andrew and Maxwell.

"I first met Ghislaine Maxwell in 2001," Page recalled. "From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we realised and suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew. A colleague of mine remembered her coming in four times in one day. She kept coming in and out, in and out."

How Ghislaine Maxwell's Conviction Affects Prince Andrew?

Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein were both convicted of sex trafficking for allegedly luring teenage girls to have sex with powerful men. Epstein died by suicide in a federal jail in August 2019.

Maxwell's conviction linked Prince Andrew to two convicted criminals. At present, the Duke of York is also facing his own legal battle after Virginia Giuffre accused him of sexual abuse. She alleged that the prince sexually assaulted her three times when she was under 18.

Prince Andrew has since denied the allegations. However, his connection to Maxwell and Epstein, who were both convicted, is "bad news" for the royal, NBC News reported.

"She [Maxwell] is now a convicted sex trafficker," Los Angeles lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represented eight of Epstein’s victims, told the British tabloid The Daily Mail. "So that just brings us one step closer to Prince Andrew."

The duke's chance of defeating Giuffre's legal action has become slimmer following Maxwell's conviction.

"When jurors come to be selected to hear Giuffre’s civil claim against Prince Andrew, there is one key fact that they will remember: that Andrew’s friend Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty by a New York court," an analysis of the case read.
