Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles, military honors, and royal patronages. Several sources claimed that Prince William and Prince Charles were involved when the Queen made the decision.
Prince Andrew Faces The Wrath Of The Heirs Prince Charles And Prince William?
The Queen released a statement about the current ordeal faced by the Duke of York by deciding to remove his title and patronages. Some believed it was probably a painful decision for the monarch because Prince Andrew was allegedly her favorite son. However, the decision was backed by the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge.
"William, in fact, was very involved in this decision, and it’s been said that he met with the queen in person ahead of their announcement that came out last week," royal expert Kristin Contino told Us Weekly. "Charles, of course, was involved in that decision too. But I think [what] a lot of people thought was interesting is William’s heavy involvement in that. So I think she really is leaning on her two heirs at this time [to] help make those sort of big family decisions."

Contino was not the first who said the heirs were involved in the stripping of Prince Andrew's title and patronages. There were palace insiders who claimed the same.
A well-placed palace source spoke with Rebecca English, royal editor for Daily Mail, and her colleagues about the same issue. According to them, the palace ended up with the said decision to "insulate the institution from being hit by all the shrapnel that is flying around."
"It follows the same model as the Sussex separation. The removal of titles and patronages means the institution can now legitimately say it is not involved," the insider said. "It was a ruthless and swift decision which will have been recommended by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge and sanctioned by the Queen."

Queen Still Love Prince Andrew But Royal Family Relieved He's Been Cut Off
The decision against Prince Andrew was an attempt for the royals to distant themselves from the duke, who is currently facing a sexual assault case in the United States.
"She has the ability, when push comes to shove, to know what is best for the institution and will act in her role as head of state, not a mother," another source told the outlet. "She loves Andrew and this doesn't mean he is no longer her son. But a decision had to be made as it was overshadowing everything the family did and her forthcoming platinum jubilee. Everyone will be feeling very relieved he has finally been cut adrift. It may even help him to have more clarity in fighting the case."
