HBO Max will introduce its viewers to the new generation of Pretty Little Liars with the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. However, just like how the law enforcement tormented the ladies from the original TV series, the new ones would also be mortified by another police officer.

With that said, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has formally introduced its major villain, Sheriff Beasley, played by Eric Johnson. In fact, as early as now, he's already been compared to the 2010 mystery series' main antagonist, A.

Introducing Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin's Villain

TVLine drops the first look at Sheriff Beasley, who is described as the "domineering patriarch of the Beasley family." He's said to be "shrouded in darkness" and could be compared to A.

For starters, A was the alias of the mysterious person who stalked, blackmailed and tortured the original The Liars.

So, would Sheriff Beasley do the same to the new generation of The Liars or, worse, surpass what A did?

Its official synopsis reads,

"Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present-day, a disparate group of teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown 'A’ssailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own.”

Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Lea Salonga, Alex Aiono and Johnson also join the new HBO Max series.

Is Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Connected to the Original Pretty Little Liars?

Millwood is said to be the neighboring town of Rosewood. Therefore, they’re both in Pennsylvania and seem to build a connection between the two shows.

However, according to TV Fanatic, the new show is not a reboot of the original series, though it occurs in the same universe.

It’s possible that the original liars will be mentioned in the new series, as the new ones go against another baddie with a badge. The events in the Rosewood may have also inspired the latest iteration of A.
