Last August, the couple adorably greeted each other on social media when they celebrated their wedding anniversary. Their fans were thrilled to know that DeGeneres and de Rossi are still very much in love.
Portia De Rossi Wants To Have An Open Marriage With Ellen DeGeneres
Life & Style, in its Feb. 7 issue, claimed that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi hit a rough patch in their relationship, and it involves other people. An unnamed source claimed that the once happy couple is no longer on the same page.
“They’re at a new crossroads. This time, the whispers are about trying an open marriage. Portia initially broached the subject, and Ellen hit the roof. She was furious with Portia for even suggesting it,” the unnamed source said.
What started out as a discussion among DeGeneres and de Rossi’s group of friends about marital monogamy allegedly took a turn for the worse after the Ally McBeal star expressed her desire to try it out.
“Some admitted they’d explored an open marriage, and others were open to trying it. Portia seemed fascinated by the topic. Ellen, however, was completely appalled. She thinks, ‘Why even get married then?’ Things got pretty heated,” the unnamed source said.
Ellen DeGeneres Accused Of Being Extremely Jealous
According to the unnamed source, DeGeneres has a tendency to be very jealous. In fact, she doesn’t want any person to go near de Rossi. So, learning that the former actress wants to have an open marriage upset her.
To make things worse, Celebrity Memoir Book Club recently accused de Rossi of cheating on DeGeneres. Even though the allegations have not been proven, the unnamed source claimed that it still affected DeGeneres and de Rossi’s marriage.
“While a few of their pals think it could’ve happened, Ellen insisted that it was just a nasty lie,” the unnamed source said.
Anne Heche Accuses Ellen DeGeneres Of Being Jealous
However, claims that DeGeneres is an incredibly jealous person are not new. In fact, her ex-girlfriend, Anne Heche, previously said that the comedian didn’t want her to dress in sexy clothes. The Ellen Show host didn’t also want her to share intimate scenes with her male co-stars.
“When I went away to do a movie, she became jealous and worried about me meeting someone else. Our arguments were brutal. Ellen didn’t want me to dress sexy. She was terrified that I wanted to be with a man again,” Heche wrote in her 2001 memoir Call Me Crazy.
The unnamed source said that DeGeneres is feeling antsy over de Rossi’s desire to have an open marriage, as well as the rumors that she hooked up with someone else.
“Their relationship is a complete mess,” the unnamed source concluded.

Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi Selling Their Montecito Home
However, there is no proof that de Rossi expressed her desire to have an open marriage with DeGeneres. The couple seems to be very busy with other more important things. In fact, they just put their Montecito home on the market for $13.9 million.
DeGeneres and de Rossi just purchased the lavish property four months ago for $12 million. So, if their asking price will be met by the future buyer, this means that the couple will rake in a $1.9 million profit.
The funny woman has been flipping houses for years. She said that this is something that she and de Rossi enjoy doing. She previously sold her Beverly Hills home for $53.5 million last year after buying it for $45 million in 2019.
Throughout the years, DeGeneres and de Rossi have also lived in a handful of homes including the Ogilvy House, a beach house in Malibu, another Montecito home, the Laurence Harvey House, the Brody House, and more.
