Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Rick Riordan Teases Finally Finding His Poseidon Star

Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians casting members continue to be kept under wraps, however, recently posting on Mastodon, the Percy Jackson author revealed he has finally found his Poseidon star!

Although the author didn’t reveal the actor’s name, Riordan couldn’t help but reveal his encouraging news on watching “Poseidon” deliver an iconic line from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief novel which sent the author “chills.” Check out his full comment below:

While Percy Jackson fans have been highly anticipating original Percy Jackson actor Logan Lerman to return on the series as Poseidon, Rick Riordan had previously addressed this as an improbable feat. Given that the Disney reboot is supposed to be a clean slate from the first films, the author made it clear he doesn’t want to crossover-cast between the two mediums and wants a fully new cast for the series.

This doesn’t seem to be looking good for fans pining for Lerman’s casting as the actor himself had addressed this far too many times. Aside from “I don’t know, I really don’t know” statements, the 31-year-old actor reiterates he isn’t old enough to play Percy Jackson’s father, and aside from that, even Lerman doesn’t seem to be too interested in taking part in the series.

However, in spite of his detachment from the fan casting, he expresses his support for Riordan to finally get the justice his franchise deserved.

Meanwhile, Walker Scobell is leading Percy Jackson and the Olympians as the titular character, along with Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Glynn Turman as Chiron / Mr. Brunner, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, and Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to be released on Disney+ in early 2024. For more updates on this story, you can check out more information here.
