Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Rick Riordan Teases “Epic” Ares Action Scenes

Rick Riordan has been frequently updating Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans and today is no exception. The Percy Jackson author has been quite determined in remaking the adaptation of his novels, and now that Disney Plus has made it possible, Riordan has been teasing a couple of things that will change in the series. Amidst his updates, Riordan has also revealed that Ares, the god of war, has already shot some massive action scenes.

Riordan teased on Mastodon that the god of war already shot “some great scenes” that will reel you in on the “Edge” of your seat, while including a picture of Adam Copeland, an actor and a professional wrestler in the WWE. Check out the author’s post below:

While there is barely any detail in what scenes the god of war has already filmed for the Disney reboot, it is safe to say, given Rick Riordan’s presence on the team, that they will go exactly by the book, which features battling with Percy Jackson in The Lightning Thief. Seeing as the adaptation of the novels goes one book per season, it is highly likely we’ll get to see Walker Scobell face Copeland at the climax of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1.

There is no question as to why Ares has to be terrifying for the series to work. The god of war should fall no short when it comes to battle combat skills. Ares, in the book series, also happens to have the most loyal children living in Camp Half-Blood, where eventually, Percy comes to realize that the god of war is part of his quest in reclaiming Zeus’ Lightning Bolt.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to be released on Disney+ in early 2024. For more updates on this story, you can check out more information here.
