Park Hye Soo has finally come out from hiatus after more than a year and makes her first public appearance following the school bullying allegations she faced last year. The Dear.M star gamely answered the press' questions as she promoted her comeback film, The Dream Songs, at the 27th Busan International Film Festival on Sunday, October 9.

Park Hye Soo was with fellow actor Kim Si Eun and director Jo Hyun Chul. So, how's the 27-year-old star doing today?

Park Hye Soo Breaks Career Hiatus

Park Hye greeted everyone with "long time no see" and revealed she was happy to be reunited with them.

For starters, she took a hiatus in February 2021 after she and her camp denied all the allegations against her.

"I understand some of you might be wondering about what I've been up to," she said, via AllKpop. "I'm doing my best trying to resolve it without evading it."

She also promised to reveal every detail "of it" after everything had settled and asked for everyone's patience.

From there, she admitted that she wasn't mentally and physically healthy when she started filming The Dream Songs. However, she began to feel loved once again when she did the project.

"It was my first time shooting an independent film, and I could feel everyone involved was pouring their hearts into this film," she continued. "Those were the memories I'll never forget."

Park Hye Soo's School Bullying Allegations

Park Hye was accused of bullying by her fellow student in her middle school years. Her agency, Studio Santa Clause Entertainment, quickly denied the allegations.

From there, a lot more people came to light to accuse the actress of bullying, too. However, Dispatch proved the netizens who maliciously accused the K-drama star were only lying about the claims.

Park Hye Soo's Response to the School Bullying Issues

Meanwhile, on March 7, 2021, Park Hye broke her silence about the school bullying allegations in a lengthy post on Instagram.

The singer revealed it took her a long time to address the issue, thinking it would just pass. "But lies kept breeding more lies until it had piled up like a mountain, growing ever taller," she said.

"I suffered as I watched two photographs that were unrelated to the truth being presented as 'confirmation,'" she continued. "And these false claims kept creating a wall of judgment that would be difficult for me to take down."

She then revealed her experience as a victim of bullying and how it took its toll on her, ending up undergoing psychological counselling for three years. However, her bully tried to alter the situation and accused Park Hye of bullying her instead.

"Even if it takes a long time, I believe that the truth will slowly, one by one, come to light, and all this will pass," she ended her note. "I beg that in future, people will learn to see the truth for what it is."
