Paramount+ Unveils Plans for the Upcoming Star Trek Day Event


Paramount+ has unveiled its plans for the upcoming Star Trek Day celebration event this coming September 8 which will be live streamed globally from the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles and will feature in-person conversations with the cast members of different shows and exciting announcements and reveals.

Star Trek: Lower Decks stars Tawny Newsome and Paul F. Tompkins are hosting the two-hour live-streamed event that will include conversation panels involving the cast members of Picard (Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd), Lower Decks (Newsome, Noël Wells, and Dawnn Lewis), Prodigy (Brett Gray and Kate Mulgrew), and Strange New Worlds (Rebecca Romijn, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, and Babs Olusanmokun).

The programming will also include a behind-the-scenes set tour of Discovery with Wilson Cruz as they're filming the fifth season in Toronto, "Put on Your Best Face" where a lucky fan will be transformed into a Star Trek alien by a series make-up artist, and "Star Trek Cosplay Runway" where fans will strut the runway in their finest Star Trek cosplay.

Reggie Watts from The Late Late Show with James Corden will serve as the special musical guest. Brian Posehn will also do a stand-up comedy performance. The event will also feature a special video tribute to the late Nichelle Nichols that will honor her impact and influence.

In addition, fans around the world will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity with the debut of the in-person "Star Trek Augmented Reality Delta Portals" that are being set up in locations around the world such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, London, Melbourne, and São Paulo. Each of them will have a Delta Portal where they can into mixed-reality portals that bring the user into the world of Star Trek after scanning a QR code on Instagram.

Even though the event is being celebrated in person, fans from different parts of the world will be able to join the event through the free live stream on Star Trek's social media pages. The conversational panels will also be available on Paramount+ after the event.
