Overwatch's Echo has Sprays Based on a Meme and Ghost in the Shell

Besides some great character design, Overwatch actually has a sense of humor about itself. With the new hero Echo incoming, it's been revealed that she actually has a spray based on a silly anime meme.

Check it out:

The Is This is a Pigeon? meme actually comes from the anime The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird, and though we don't know Echo's relation to that anime, she does seem to have an affinity to butterflies. Besides this spray, Echo's other Legendary skins are also inspired butterflies as well. It's kind of how Lucio likes frogs or Widowmaker is into spiders.

Besides that, Echo also looks to have a spray based on Ghost in the Shell:

With Blizzard having announced Overwatch 2, it's said that Echo will be the last hero we will get for now. For now, I guess we don't have to worry too much about the first game dying out; it's said that the sequel will be focusing more on offline gameplay, and will be free to access for players who already own Overwatch. Then again, that's just the word going around; it's possible that the game will be something else entirely when it comes out.

For now, players are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Echo. After her debut in 2018, it's going to be interesting to see how she fares against everyone else in the roster. Classified as an offense hero, Echo has the ability to mimic other players and their abilities; thus allowing her to choose a variety of ultimates depending on the situation.

Echo is now available for PTR, but we have yet to get an official release date for her in the game. Overwatch is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
