Overwatch Might be Coming to Nintendo Switch After Official Merchandise Leaks

Overwatch has to be one of Blizzard's most popular games right now, continuing to get updates and new characters, like the recently-released Sigma. The game is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC but it looks like this multiplayer shooter is going to have a new home soon. While nothing official has been announced, an Overwatch-themed Nintendo Switch case has been spotted, seemingly confirming a port for the popular console/handheld hybrid.

Though Blizzard has yet to say anything, this could confirm that Overwatch for Nintendo Switch is going to be a thing. Considering how well Blizzard ported Diablo 3 to the gaming system, porting Overwatch was the next logical step. This could also mean that Blizzard will gain more confidence in the system and port more of their games, maybe even some of the older ones.

Admittedly, playing Overwatch in handheld mode could be odd, especially if there isn't any wi-fi on the subway or bus. Then again, this isn't the only online multiplayer game available in the system, with DC Universe Online, Dead by Daylight, and even Splatoon 2, though the latter did get some single-player DLC.

While I'm not a big fan of the game, I don't see any problem with porting Blizzard's online shooter to the Switch. After all, you want to get more eyes on your game and few consoles are more popular than the Nintendo Switch.

Overwatch is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No confirmation for the Switch version, at least not yet.
